Avery Magic Christmas Style

Christmas is coming.  I’ve not done a thing. Nothing, Nada, Zip.

So, instead of rushing out and buying random stuffs for people and then loosing track of everything, I thought I would start a new linky!

Avery is not here, and while I will still buy him presents this year, I won’t be able to give him anything, watch him eat wrapping paper, and be fascinated by the tinsel.  But there are others out there who are on this earth, who may not be able to afford tinsel or wrapping paper, or are struggling with the grief that comes with the first christmas with out their babe, or the tenth christmas without their child…

So I am doing a call to arms.  I am asking all of my readers to do something for their global community.

I invite everyone to steal use this badge on their website and write about a gift they bought in memory of Avery.  It could be a gift for your local Wishing Tree, Giving Tree, Christmas Tree (you know the ones!), or it could be donating a bear pack at Bears of Hope in Avery’s name, buying hampers from Charity Hampers or cards from Christmas Cards 4 Charity  with proceeds going to Sids and Kids NSW. You could donate to Little Angel Memory Boxes or to your local NICU.  Or you could donate to one of my favourite places – Heartfelt.

All of these places have helped my family in the last 5 months. They have all helped me process Avery’s death, and helped rebuild my family.  We are not whole, just different now.

So I invite you all to spend little or spend big, remember my family and Avery this Christmas, and spread a little Avery Magic far and wide this festive season.  Then if you are a blogger, take a photo of your gift, or just talk about the charity, or even just quietly slip the link in your side bar… but come back and link up so we can share the magic around.  And if you are not a blogger, drop a comment to let me know…

Spread a little Avery Magic – Christmas style!

I just donated a session to Heartfelt in memory of Avery, and also the cost of a memory box to Little Angel Memory Boxes.

Every year at Christmas time, I look for a charity that means something to me personally, that has touched me personally, so that I can give to someone whose Christmas is not as fortunate as mine. Either financially, or emotionally, or whatever it may be.

Avery touched my life this year, YOU have touched my life this year, and I appreciate the opportunity to be able to give back, in Avery’s memory. Much love.

What a beautiful idea. Piper & I went out & chose two tags from the Christmas wishing tree – one for a present in honour of your beautiful Avery & one for our Little Frenchy xx

What a wonderful idea, and a beautiful generous spirit you have Kristie.

Is there anyway I can link this post on Facebook (or would you rather not have that done?).

Wishing you and your family, a peaceful Christmas, and hope it is as happy as it can possibly be for all of you!

(ps, can I recommend some Rescue Remedy for the anxiety, if you haven’t already tried it? Might just take the edge off, without you losing your focus, and Avery, again :( )

pps, feel free to tell me to mind my own business, I won’t be offended!!
